Mark D. Freeman

Mark was born and raised on Long Island, New York. He moved to Washington, D.C. to attend The George Washington University, (B.A., 1979) and graduate school at Georgetown University, (M.A., 1981). Upon the recommendation of his then-landlord, who was a professor at Georgetown University Law School, Mark applied to and was accepted at the University of Miami School of Law (J.D. 1984), Mark then began his legal career at the Third District Court of Appeal as a law clerk for Senior Judge Thomas H. Barkdull, Jr.


Following his time at the Court, Mark worked solely as a litigator, trying over 65 cases to jury verdict, in addition to handling over 15 bench trials. Mark began trying cases as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade County.  Approximately 17 years ago, Mark moved from criminal defense to civil practice.  As a result of his years as a civil litigator representing clients, Mark has attended close to 800 mediations.  


Mark is now bringing his 30-plus years of litigation experience to the Mediation forum, to assist litigators and their clients.
